- Introduction
Sri Arunodayam Charitable Trust is a charitable organisation committed to providing care, protection, education, rehabilitation, therapy, vocational training and lifelong support to abandoned and vulnerable children and young adults with intellectual disabilities.
This Refund and Cancellation Policy applies to donations, contributions and other payments made through the Sri Arunodayam website using the online payment facility provided through an authorised payment gateway, including the payment gateway facility provided by ICICI Bank.
- Nature of Payments
Payments made through our website are primarily voluntary donations and charitable contributions intended to support the charitable activities, programmes and objectives of Sri Arunodayam Charitable Trust.
A donation, once successfully completed, cannot ordinarily be cancelled or refunded merely because the donor has changed their mind.
- Eligible Refund Situations
Sri Arunodayam may consider a refund in exceptional circumstances, including:
- Duplicate payment made inadvertently;
- Payment made for an incorrect amount due to a technical or transaction-related error;
- Amount debited from the donor’s bank or card account but not successfully received or recorded by Sri Arunodayam;
- Technical failure resulting in an unintended duplicate transaction; or
- Any other genuine payment discrepancy verified by Sri Arunodayam.
All refund requests will be reviewed and processed on a case-by-case basis.
- Refund Request Procedure
A refund request should preferably be submitted within 7 days from the date of the transaction.
The request should contain:
- Donor’s full name;
- Email address and/or mobile number used for the transaction;
- Transaction/reference ID;
- Date of transaction;
- Amount paid;
- Reason for requesting the refund; and
- Supporting transaction details or proof, where applicable.

- Verification
Sri Arunodayam will verify the transaction details before approving a refund.
Where the payment has been successfully received and accounted for as a charitable donation, Sri Arunodayam reserves the right to decline a refund request except in cases involving a genuine transaction error, duplicate payment or other exceptional circumstances.
- Refund Processing
Where a refund is approved, Sri Arunodayam will initiate the refund through the original payment method or payment channel, wherever reasonably possible.
The actual time taken for the refunded amount to appear in the donor’s bank account, card account or other payment account may depend on the payment gateway, acquiring bank, issuing bank, card network, UPI service provider or other financial institution involved in the transaction.
Accordingly, Sri Arunodayam does not guarantee a specific date by which the refunded amount will be credited to the donor’s account.
- Failed or Pending Transactions
If a donor’s account has been debited but the transaction appears as unsuccessful, pending or incomplete on the Sri Arunodayam website, the donor should contact us with the transaction/reference number.
Sri Arunodayam will verify the transaction status with the relevant payment gateway or bank.
Where the amount has not been received by Sri Arunodayam, any reversal or refund will be subject to the applicable banking and payment gateway processes.
- Cancellation
A successfully completed donation cannot ordinarily be cancelled.
If a donor decides not to proceed with a payment before completing the transaction, the payment process may simply be discontinued.
Once a transaction has been successfully authorised and processed, cancellation will be governed by this Refund and Cancellation Policy.
- Payment Gateway and Banking Charges
Where a refund is approved, Sri Arunodayam will make reasonable efforts to refund the eligible amount.
Any payment gateway, banking, processing or transaction charges that are non-refundable, where applicable, may be treated separately in accordance with the applicable payment gateway and banking rules.
- Policy Changes
Sri Arunodayam reserves the right to modify or update this Refund and Cancellation Policy from time to time.
Any revised version will be published on this website with the updated effective date.
